  • 8 oz linguine or spaghetti Cooked according to package instructions and drained.

  • 2 cups cooked chicken Shredded or cubed.
  • 8 oz mushrooms Sliced.
  • 1/4 cup butter For sautéing.
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour To thicken the sauce.
  • 2 cups chicken broth Creates a rich flavor base.
  • 1 cup heavy cream Adds the creamy texture.
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese Adds a lovely nutty flavor.
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder For a hint of aromatic essence.
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper For seasoning.
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs For topping.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large pot, cook your linguine or spaghetti according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Cooking

  • In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the sliced mushrooms and cook until they are soft.
  • Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and stir for about 1 minute.
  • Slowly add the chicken broth, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
  • Stir in the heavy cream, cooked chicken, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix well.
  • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and stir until everything is well combined.
  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top, followed by the breadcrumbs.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.

Notes

Serve Chicken Tetrazzini hot, straight from the oven. It pairs well with a simple side salad or some garlic bread. For added flavor, consider using fresh herbs or adding vegetables like peas or spinach. You can also make this dish ahead of time by assembling it and refrigerating before baking.
