Notes

Customize the Filling:
You can customize the ham and cheese filling by adding other ingredients like sautéed spinach, mushrooms, or tomatoes for extra flavor and nutrition.
Cheese Options:
While cheddar and Swiss are the most common options, feel free to experiment with mozzarella, gouda, or brie for a different flavor profile.
Make-Ahead Option:
You can prepare the croissants ahead of time by assembling them and storing them in the fridge for up to 12 hours before baking. This is great for a quick breakfast or brunch when you’re pressed for time.
Freezing:
If you have leftovers or want to prepare ahead, you can freeze the uncooked croissants. Simply place them on a baking sheet, freeze until firm, and then transfer to a freezer-safe bag. Bake directly from the freezer, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
Perfect for Meal Prep:
These croissants are ideal for meal prep. Simply make a batch, store them in an airtight container, and enjoy them throughout the week.Gluten-Free Option:
For a gluten-free version, try using gluten-free croissant dough or substitute with gluten-free puff pastry, although the texture and taste may vary slightly.
Serving Suggestions:
These croissants pair well with a fresh salad, fruit, or a side of soup for a full meal. You can also serve them as an appetizer for a party or gathering.
