Ingredients

Mozzarella Sticks

  • 8 sticks Whole milk mozzarella Halved for bite-sized pieces

Breading Station

  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 large Eggs Beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups Breadcrumbs Plain or seasoned

Nashville Hot Seasoning

  • 1 tbsp Cayenne pepper
  • 2 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Brown sugar
  • To taste Salt and black pepper

For Frying

  • As needed Vegetable or canola oil For deep frying

For Serving

  • Optional Ranch or blue cheese dressing For dipping

Instructions

  • Cut mozzarella sticks in half and freeze for 20–30 minutes to help them hold their shape when frying.
  • Set up three bowls: one with flour and seasoning, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with cayenne, paprika, garlic powder, and brown sugar.
  • Dredge each mozzarella stick in flour, then dip in egg, then coat in seasoned breadcrumbs. Repeat egg and breadcrumb steps for extra crunch.
  • Place the coated sticks on a tray and freeze for 30 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry the mozzarella sticks in batches for 1–2 minutes until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  • Serve hot with ranch or blue cheese dipping sauce. Garnish with pickles or jalapeños if desired.

Notes

Double-freezing ensures the sticks stay intact during frying. Don't overcrowd the oil to maintain temperature for crispiness.
